What is Centro?▼
Centro is a mobile browser agent that browses the web on your behalf- on your command using any AI provider of your choice. You describe a task, lock your phone, and Centro gets to work. It uses Graphic Density Grounding (GDG), a novel technique that converts pages to structured text instead of screenshots making it 10–30× cheaper per step than vision-based agents.
Which AI models does it support?▼
Any model with a REST API: Claude, GPT-4o, Gemini, Llama via Groq, local models via Ollama, and any OpenAI-compatible endpoint. You can bring your own API key. It's stored on-device only and never touches Centro's servers.
How does it work while my phone is locked?▼
Centro Browser uses Apple's verified channels to make it work (iOS 26+), which lets user-initiated tasks keep running after you background the app. There's also a Live Activity on your lock screen that shows real-time progress.
Browser app vs Safari, what's the difference?▼
Centro Browser is power mode it runs in the background, works while locked, its own browser session. The Extension runs inside Safari, uses your existing logins, but pauses when Safari isn't active. Both share the same agent core and model config.
Is my data private?▼
Yes. Your API keys live in your device's secure local storage. All model calls go directly from your device to your provider. Centro's servers are never in the loop. We don't collect, log, or transmit your browsing data or task content.
How much does it cost to run tasks?▼
Centro is free to download (with optional paid tiers later for extra capabilities). You only pay for API tokens used by your chosen model. A typical task costs $0.005–$0.02 — roughly 10–30× cheaper than screenshot-based agents like OpenAI Operator.
When is it launching?▼
We're targeting a TestFlight beta very soon. Sign up above for an invite. We're building in public, follow on GitHub and X for updates.
Will there be an Android version?▼
Yes — planned post-iOS launch. Android's Foreground Services are more reliable for background execution than iOS, so the Android version will be sharper. iOS first to move fast, Android right after.
